Highlights were large numbers of Grasshopper Sparrows, Eastern Meadowlarks, and Indigo Buntings. Also present was a calling Bobwhite, which according to one of the owners, are released from the adjacent farm. Other birds included a pair of Blue Grosbeaks, Song Sparrows, Chipping Sparrows, Barn Swallows, Eastern Bluebirds, and American Goldfinch. But, the surprise of the morning was an Olive Sided Flycatcher which landed briefly on a fence post along the road I was walking. I got good looks at the bird before it flew into a patch of nearby trees. Clearly present was the dark "vest", and largish head.
