Thanks to Jim for posting the terns. Thursday May 29 - Common Nighthawk west of Northeast over Rt. 40 about 6am Adult Roseate Tern at the Ocean City Inlet feeding with a large Common Tern flock. Split time evenly between red buoy inside the inlet and the green buoy just outside. I took some photos, hope they come out. This is in the Safe Dates! Two adult Sandwich Terns at Skimmer Island sitting together with one in high breeding condition. Hopefully they nest this year. Two Lesser Black-backs at Skimmer Island, one first-year, and one 4th summer. One Wilson's Storm-Petrel flying by the Inlet. Friday May 30 - Mourning Warbler near Bishopville, not singing, just hopped on a fallen log. Six Red-breasted Mergansers at Eagles Nest Campground along with one flyby Red-throated Loon. Three Wilson's Storm-Petrels at the Inlet present for the whole hour I was there. Flooded field on Laws Rd (Wicomico) south of Wango Rd, 139 Black-bellied Plover, 88 Ruddy Turnstones (second county record according to Mr. Stasz), 2 Dunlin, 2 Short-billed Dowitchers, and a smattering of Semis and Leasts. Saturday May 31 - singing White-throated Sparrow near Bishopville. Sunday June 1 - one Wilson's Storm-Petrel at the Inlet ( I was only here about 10 minutes) I think that is all, this week I should be able to post things the day I see them.
