Cleaned out. Today I observed strange behavior at Riley's #1. Male only going in hole, but sometimes coming out with food still in mouth. Female not observed. Got my waders, returned, and found one healthy chick, 1-2 days from fledging. Hypothesis: this was the "runt". Other four chicks fledged and female feeding them off in the woods. This seems strange, but what else? While there, checked out two other Riley's boxes: #2 Empty #3 Five healthy 7-8 day old chicks Bob Mumford Darnestown ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
