Bitterns in Cheltenham Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Hi, I lived in Cheltenham from 1993 to 2001, in a house on Angora Dr. with a yard that bordered the Navy/Government land in which the Wetlands Park sits. A not-uncommon sight was Am. Bitterns in the backyard (about 1/2 mile from the water), very slowly and deliberately hunting bugs, frogs, toads, and salamanders in the lawn. I also saw Am. Bitterns and Green Herons in the Park itself, where I birded quite often. There was a family of Barred Owls in the woods right behind the house, and a few times I saw as many as three at a time atop the fence between my yard and my neighbor's yard, in broad daylight.
