We never knew for sure if they were breeding. Similar situations have happened in Howard and Carroll counties in the past also. The possibility of your bird being a late migrant also exists which is why the safe date is June 10. The safe dates are not for breeding birds in Western Maryland but for just such situations as yours, birds out of their expected range. I am also intrigued by your Least Flycatcher report. It is equally unlikely as Alder. Where is the location of these birds?
