GS BUMED" Subject: Roosevelt Island, DC MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Roosevelt Island, Wash, DC, 10 Jun 03, 1130-1230: Ah, the sun and a cloudless sky for a change. There were a few neat observations along the trails today. A total of 5 Baltimore Orioles (1 immature & 4 adult males) were observed by the swamp. The 4 adults were engaged in treetop dogfights for dominance. Nearby, a beautiful singing PROTHONOTARY WARBLER was perched in a tree. My first Prothonotary observed on the island. Along the boardwalk not less than a dozen dragonflies were busy hawking what appeared to be newly hatched termites emerging from a tree. Is there a term for dragon or damsel flies in a group?
