It's not about some egomaniac trying to lord it over the rest of us (although Norm pays for this service out of his own pocket and he'd have the right to do so if he so desired), it's about keeping most of the messages about Maryland birds and birding, and not losing control to a flood of out-of-state routine bird reports swamping the listserv, as has happened in the past.
