The other bird was higher up in the trees and about 1/4 mile closer to Georgetown. The first bird could still be heard singing in the same tree when I drove Canal Rd. to return to Bethesda about 9:30. I note from "The Bible" (aka The Yellow Book, by Iliff, Ringler & Stasz) that this species does linger in MD/DC some springs. And of course, it is one of the later northbound migrants. But it is June 22. Have other people been coming across lingering individuals of this species in the last, rain-sodden weeks? Mike Bowen Bethesda, MD D.H.
