The last few weeks there has been quite a = kingbird show during the games. In my limited observation during games = (which does not improve my fielding), I've only seen one bird at a time = (though I can't rule out the possibility of two). I haven't been able = to discern a nest in this area, but it certainly seems to be a = territory. Last week I had my first good look at the red crown stripe = as an agitated bird flew by me a few feet away. =20 And an apparently good supply of tasty low-flying insects made last = night the best yet, as it did a lot of low hovering (nice hummingbird = impression) and darted through the infielders, coming within a foot or = so of them. It was also especially amusing when it would hover for = extended periods right behind our pitcher. Pity we don't have a = bird-sized glove--I'm sure it would have been a better left fielder than = me.
