I did not actually see the heads of the young. At one point both kingbirds sat side by side at the nest. On my way out I ran into Jim Peters and Wayne Gordon. They saw the same thing earlier during the BBC's First Wednesdays Walk with Gail Frantz. I'm sure they will have more to add. I asked Jim if they plan to band the young. He thought it was a good Idea. I can't reply to MD Osprey from work.
