Along the stretch of road west of Cedar Lane, I saw two male Dickcissel singing from various shrubs in the hayfield just south of the road. Very pretty birds, at one point I viewed one of the birds through my scope as it sang for several minutes. The Dickcissel pretty much sang non- stop while I was there. Also present was a very noisy and conspicuous Yellow Breasted Chat, many Grasshopper Sparrows, Indigo Buntings, Field Sparrows, and one or two calling Bobwhites. At one point, I also heard a Yellow Billed Cuckoo call from the woods on the far side of Cedar Lane.
