MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi All (and Bill), As you probably noted all three Cliff Swallow nesting records in Prince George's County were along the Patuxent River. These were in the Laurel quadrangle in the NW block, the NE block of the Beltsville quadrangle, and in the Bristol - CW block (which includes part of the Jug Bay Wetlands and Patuxent River Park). In 2002 there was a confirmation in the Laurel - NW block, so the swallows are still there, but they were not confirmed in the other two blocks. There *was* a report for Cliff Swallow from Bristol - CW but it involved the "X" possible code. My personal preference for wide-ranging and colonial birds like swallows, seabirds, and herons is to use the "O" code, but maybe the swallows were in the vicinity of their old colony. Hello, Does anyone know of any nesting Cliff Swallows in Prince George County? The last breeding survey in the 80's indicates that there were at one time.
