     I don't have a copy of the Post handy, but your message was
delightful.   They usually like short words filed with vowels: "tern,"
"erne," "aerie," "sora," and, of course, "ani."

     I remember, for some time after I saw my first ani at Loxahatchee NWR, trying to tell people of my pleasure in finally seeing this
cross-word puzzle bird.   After meeting a lot of blank stares, I
realize, now, that I should have called you.
