Grass has now grown up enough to give the birds some hiding places, but most were grouped in the largest pond where they could be easily seen with binocs or scope from beside the viewing platform (currently under construction). Parking beside the barn is recommended, and then follow the grassy path through the field to the viewing platform. Yesterday's highlights: Western Sandpiper (2) Least Sandpiper (7+) Semipalmated Sandpiper Spotted Sandpiper Greater Yellowlegs (6) Matt Hafner and Zach Baer were also present, and reported that both Stilt and Pectoral Sandpipers had been seen there earlier in the week. On a visit last Monday (7/14), I found five Great Egrets feeding at this site.
