Waterthrush singing, Coopers' fledglings - Daniels, Howard County MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Following Mary O. Huebner's post today: I heard an L. waterthrush singing today as well. It was up a small stream, above the Daniels section of the Patapsco. The bird appeared distraught, flying by me chipping madly before perching and singing a few times. Another bird was present but only chipped. 3 recently fledged Cooper's hawks sat in a dead tree off Daniels Road, giving whistle-like calls and hopping from branch to branch in a rather uncertain manner. The recent heavy rain had brought lots of silt and gravel down; it lined the stream bed in places. Too rapid run off from all the paved surfaces higher up.
