Date: Thu, 14 Aug 2003 18:38:45 -0400 Reply-To: Maryland Birds & Birding Sender: Maryland Birds & Birding From: Les Roslund Subject: John Brown Road Sightings of Wed, 13 Aug MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit A 10:00 a.m. visit to Central Sod Farm on Wednesday, 13 Aug, yielded the following: 5 Semi-palmated Plovers 4 Horned Larks 6 Pectoral Sandpipers 4 Least Sandpipers 18+ Killdeer 1 Greater Yellowlegs 1 Lesser Yellowlegs Many of these birds were near the wet spot in the south-east field where sod has been cut in all but a small strip of land. The strip must have been too wet for sod cutting, but now makes a nice place for the shorebirds.
