Debbie Terry and I went looking for shorebirds at Lake R. on the = afternoon of 8/21 (morning sun is a problem here). Extensive mudflats remain at the north end of the lake. We saw:
     Killdeer-- 7
     Semi-palm Plover-- 1
     Greater Yellowlegs--2
     Lesser Yellowlegs--3
     Semi-palm Sand.-- 25
     Least Sand-- 8
     Spotted Sand-- 2
     Solitary-- 3

Also Great blue heron-- 4, Green heron-- 2, Great egret-- 1, Black-crowned night heron-- 2.
