MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Sunday, 24 Sep 03, 1600-1800, Rachel Carson Conservation Park, Mt. Zion Road: A Montgomery County first for me when I observed a beautiful male Hooded Warbler in the park yesterday. I also observed what appeared to be a Red-eyed Vireo feeding a juvenile Brown-headed Cowbird. Other migrants of note included White-eyed Vireo, Eastern Wood Peewee, Wood Thrush and 2 juvenile Baltimore Oriole. I stopped by the new Blue Mash Nature Walk, also located along Mt. Zion Road adjacent to the old landfill. Beside the usual suspects, I observed a Great Blue Heron, Great Egret and Wood Duck in the pond.
