Rappole as its speaker in a talk titled "Birds of the Mid-Atlantic Region and Where to Find Them", which is also the title of his latest book. Dr. Rappole is a research scientist at the Smithsonian Institution's Conservation and Research Center in Front Royal, Virginia. His previous books include Birds of Texas (with Gene Blacklock), Neotropical Migratory Birds (with Dick DeGraff), Birds of the Southwest, and The Ecology of Migrant Birds. If you have any of Dr. Rappole's books, he will be happy to sign it. He will also have copies of his latest book for those who want to purchase it. The evening, at Sherwood House, begins with refreshments at 7:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Please join us. Directions to Sherwood House. From the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) take Exit 29A Cromwell Bridge Road. Turn east (away from the city) onto Cromwell Bridge Road. In one mile, turn left at the sign "the Sherwood House" (which is BEFORE the sign for "Willow Grove Farm"). Drive down the long driveway, across the bridge, bear to the right up the hill and follow the one way signs to the stone house at the top of the hill. Park in the lot next to the house and enter the house under the arch over the driveway.
