Today we scrounged around for a couple of hours and saw 7 Redstarts, 1 Magnolia, 1 yellowthroat, 6-7 Red-eyed Vireos and the best bird, a lovely Yellow-throated Vireo. Not as many hummingbirds as last week, maybe 2-3. Actually, yesterday was far better -- in Wheaton Regional Park! Suffering from no electricity (for almost 24 hours, it turned out) we took our three dogs for a walk along the horse trail at about 10:30 am. Naturally, burdened with three energetic dogs and only one pair of bins between us, we ran into a large feeding flock! We managed to sort out 12 Red-eyed Vireos, 2 Blackburnians, and one each of Magnolia, Nashville, Tennessee, Black-throated Blue, Redstart and Chestnut-sided, plus one all-yellow warbler (probably a Blue-winged) which got away, plus a Swainson's Thrush! So the birds are moving...
