Terry" Subject: Shorebirds at Lake Roland MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit The mud flat at the north end of Lake Roland continues to attract shorebirds. Yesterday, 8/28/03, there were 3 PECTORALS, 8 LEASTS, 2 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, 1 SOLITARY, 2 LESSER and 1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS. The best time to observe the birds in this area is in the afternoon. An added bonus where the GREAT EGRET, 2 GREEN HERONS, 2 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, and GREAT BLUE HERON seen from the bridge over the Jones Falls, just below the dam.
