A little after 7 PM, an immature Cooper's Hawk (female judging from the size) flew into a tree where I have a sunflower feeder. The tree is also a favorite with the hummingbirds in my yard. The hawk remained in the tree for 6-8 minutes, moving from limb to limb, and the whole time it was there, there was a "cloud" of 5-7 hummingbirds buzzing around it about 3-4 feet away. The really interesting part was when it took off and flew toward my neighbor's yard, it had an entourage of over a dozen hummingbirds following it! (And I still had 10-15 hummers at the feeders.)
