Action started at 7 am at the ridge (picnic areas 17/18) and continued with passing flocks until late morning. The following numbers reflect our sightings, the numbers in () additional birds/species seen by others. Warblers: Blue-winged 2 (1), Black-throated Green 2, Black-and-white 6 (2), Blackburnian 2, Chestnut-sided (all immatures) 12 (4), Canada 1 (1), Cape May 1 (2) -- actually 3 together! but we only saw one of them, grrr -- Yellow-breasted Chat 1, Magnolia 5 (2), Prairie (1), Redstart 12 (3), Tennessee 2 (1), Yellowthroat 4. Other migrants: Yellow-throated Vireo 1, Red-eyed Vireo ~20, Baltimore Oriole 15, Scarlet Tanager 3, Veery 1, Bobolink 1, Great Crested Flycatcher 3, Least Flycatcher 1 (1), Yellow-bellied Flycatcher 1, Acadian Flycatcher 1, Empid. sp. 1 (we all had good looks but it was sure a puzzler!), Eastern Wood-pewee 6, Ruby-throated Hummingbird 5.
