There were perhaps a few dozen in the trees near the mansion for about 20 minutes. Later there was a pocket of activity down the maintenance trail, including a Golden-wing and a Worm-eater. There were also about 3 Baltimore Orioles and a Scarlet Tanager with a striking combination of red and yellow plumage. This was one of the best warbler days I remember there for some years. The 10 warbler species, with approximate numbers were: Golden-winged Warbler - 1 Chestnut-sided Warbler - 5 Magnolia Warbler - 5 Black-throated Blue Warbler - 1 Black-throated Green Warbler - 5 Blackburnian Warbler - 3 Bay-breasted Warbler - 1 Black-and-white Warbler - 1 American Redstart - 10 Worm-eating Warbler - 1 (Nashville - 1 possible) Steve Sanford tanager@bcpl.net Randallstown MD Baltimore County ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
