I tried posting this note earlier, but for some reason it didn't go through. I forgot to mention in my post yesterday that the bird vocalized when flushing. Three short, soft notes - Whim, wim, wim (but maybe it only sounded like that to me because I was thinking Whimbrel.) The first note was slightly wheezy, as though the bird was inhaling at the time. The birds around the pond today were generally the same as yesterday, with the following additions: Great Egret, immature Little Blue Heron, Lesser Yellowlegs, Eastern Kingbird. Plus I had Blue-Grey Gnatcatchers moving through the trees behind my house.
