Greetings, Having settled (somewhat) into my new job at APG I have begun a new list of birds that I have observed around the post. All of my observations have been with out optics (for now) as I dont want to be hassled by the MPs. I am still trying trying to feel my way throught the climate here as far as rules go. Anyway today I made a few observations of interest while overseeing some testing that what going on. Common Yellowthroat became my first warbler species as I seen saw three of them all juvies. This brings me to my next question. Is anyone covering the APG/Edgewood Arsenals as far as the Altasing program is concerned? I know that there are ecologist here that work on post but are any of them birders? I would be interested in helping with the atlasing hear next season. So far I have confirmed 6 or so species between APG and Spesutie Island. All by way of seeing recently fledged birds flying around. On a side note I saw (on Monday) a rather strange thing. A flock of about 500 Brown-headed Cowbirds!!!! I have never seen so many in pone place before.
