Hit a few pockets of birds but lots of walking through "slow" = areas. We found 14 species of warblers that ranged from single birds = (NASHVILLE, CANADA, CERULEAN) to half dozens or more of (BLACKBURNIAN, = MAGNOLIA and REDSTARTS). A complete lack of Black-throated blues. We had = both ACADIANS and PEWEES feeding fledglings. Highlight was a closeout day on woodpeckers with my first SAPSUCKER = of the season and a flyover adult RED-HEADED WOODPECKER.=20 A few ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS (at home too). A few early BROAD-WINGS had me hoping the hawks would move this = afternoon but I only had a few. While watching the skies I did pick up a = couple LAUGHING GULLS.=20 Yesterday in the early morning I had a MERLIN buzz the feeders.
