After grabbing Sibley's and Kaufmann, it didn't take long to realize it was an Eurasian Collared Dove. The black band around the back of the neck was very distinctive. Upon first glance, I thought for a minute I had an albino dove. How common or uncommon is this sighting in Maryland? Storm related you think? Kerry, Most likely it was a Ringed Turtle-Dove, as I have had these show up here in Ashton at my feeders in the past. They look very much like a E. Collared Dove, which would be unlikely here in Montgomery County (but not impossible). Check your Sibley Guide carefully.
