We enjoyed quite a nice flight today and I was quite surprised at the busy flight going on between 12:30 and 2:00. All but 1 of the days Kestrels came through during this time. There were literally hundreds of dragonflies over the meadow and I observed first a sharpie, then a kestrel flying through having lunch on the move. Between Candi Lee in the AM 0800 and myself from 1230 to 1530 we had: BV-2, TV-10, OS-8, BE-3, NH-1, SS-47, CH-4, BW-10, RT-1, AK-13, ML-2, UR-3 Total 104 Candi Lee was lucky to observe a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers perched right on the hawk watch snag; I only heard their drumming and calls throughout the afternoon.
