Fran

I have little experience with digital cameras but I will eventually. Generally, editors still prefer a real slide to work with. No telling what format the digital images will come in, and if they have a slide or negative they can do what they want with their software. Also, digital cameras are much slower than the old style single lens reflect (SLR) cameras. I am planning on getting a Canon digital camera to use with the new Swarovski scope I bought Gwen. I will be better qualified to discuss the differences then.

I do like the sharpness, and all those technical aspects of my Canon SLR systems. The stabilizer technology has been the difference in many situations in getting the shot or not. I don't know if the digital cameras have this feature. Resolution with digital cameras is becoming less of a problem, but SLR are still sharper under most situations. That should change as technology advances.

Once I retire in January I will have much more time to study all those things that a full time job interferes with. Maybe a BIG CHARLES County is in the future. More later.

Regards

George
