On 9/27 counter Dave Kimball had a slowish day but was able to show the visting Centerville Middle School Birding Team much Pileated Woodpecker activity. It was apparently the first ever sighting of this magnificent bird for these young birders! Who wants to bet they will never forget that sighing! There were also 30 raptors tallied in 5 1/2 count hours: OS-6, SS-18, CH-2, AK-1, UU-3 SEASONAL DATA: 73.75 count hours thus far, 928 total: BV-25, TV-73, OS-48, BE-59, NH-12, SS-367, CH-52, BW-170, RT-24, AK-40, ML-9, PG-2, UU-47 Marcia Watson-Whitmyre is out there today, wracking up some good numbers I`m hoping. Marcia also keeps our seasonal data posted with complete hawk watch site information at www.udel.edu/cecilbird and does a wonderful job. We recently had new members who had found the website. "Data " Dave Kimball is once again keeping track of our daily count data and doing a great job too. We have a dedicated core of volunteer counters, but am always looking for more!
