Best viewing was of shorebirds around the ponds on Spring Road just south of Oxford Road. Later, the group found several raptors closer to Oxford, and even later some of the group filled out Gull and Tern lists by viewing these from the town of Oxford itself. Highlights: Spring Road - 1 Caspian Tern, Greater & Lesser Yellowlegs, many Pectoral Sandpipers, Least & Semipalmated Sandpipers, 1 White-rumped Sandpiper, 1 Spotted Sandpiper, numerous Killdeer, 3 Black Ducks, 2 Pintails, 1 Common Yellowthroat. Oxford region - Sharp-shinned Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Northern Harrier, Kestrel, Osprey, Royal Terns, Common & Forster's Terns, and the four usual Gull species. Back in the town of Easton at noon, a large flock of Tree Swallows flew past.
