After an early influx at the ridge (picnic area 17/18), with many not ID'd due to poor light and quick exits, it died down. We then went to the maintenance yard, where it was lively for a while. Then everything went dead except for the robins. Most enjoyable bird -- a Nighthawk flew in just after dawn at the ridge and perched for the day (apparently) in the big walnut in the center of the clearing, giving great views. Warblers: (12 species) Black-throated Green (4), Black-throated Blue (1, numbers of this species down compared to previous years), Blackburnian (1), Black-and-White (2), Chestnut-sided (1), Magnolia (3), Myrtle (1, dang!), Nashville (1), Palm (1), Parula (2), Tennessee (2), Yellowthroat (8, most adult males). Other: Red-eyed Vireo (8), Philadelphia Vireo (1), Wood Thrush (4), Swainson's Thrush (4), Gray-cheeked Thrush (1), Scarlet Tanager (8-10), Rose-breasted Grosbeak (1), Ruby-crowned Kinglet (3), House Wren (7), Winter Wren (1), Phoebe (2), Swamp Sparrow (1), White-throated Sparrow (4), Indigo Bunting (2), Flicker (~20), plus many robins and a fair number of jays. Cedar Waxwings heard but not seen.
