I = find that the longer I bird the more bird lists I keep. I keep lists for = over 30 places in Howard County and one useful aspect of list keeping is = to watch the change in birds in each area as habitat changes. Somewhere = years ago, I read that some of the most useful bird information came = from observers that kept yard lists for a single spot for years and = years running. (numbers of species included). My county and yard lists are my favorites. For years I haven't had = much opportunity to list away from either but I hope that will change = soon and I can diversify a bit. I also remember a few years back some MDOspreyers were keeping lists = for species seen on Holiday Cards. I have also heard of bird lists for = TV watching and other oddball things. I am starting a new list tomorrow for South Carolina! Wish me luck = and please don't find any super sparrows until I get back ( at least not = in Howard County!!).
