Not a lot of activity but a few nice visitors.=20 1. Turkey Vultures - 7 2. Red-tailed Hawk - 2; 1 adult, 1 immature 3. Mourning Dove - 5 4. Red-bellied Woodpecker - 6 5. Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 2; 1 adult male, 1 immature - maybe = male. 6. Downy Woodpecker - 4 7. Hairy Woodpecker - 4; pretty active - calling, singing, chasing each = other 8. Northern Flicker - 2 9. White-breasted Nuthatch - 6 10. Carolina Chickadee - 4 11. Tufted Titmouse - 1 12. Brown Creeper - 1=20 13. Carolina Wren - 2 14. Golden-crowned Kinglet - 1 15. Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 6 16. Hermit Thrush - 1 calling early, my first of the fall season 17. American Robin - 10 overhead 18. Eastern Bluebird - 6 feeding on the Black Gum berries 19. Yellow-rumped Warbler - 25 - all around most of the day - an = estimate 20. European Starling - 3 flyovers 21. Chipping Sparrow - 2 late in the day. They have not been around = lately. Maybe migrants. 22. White-throated Sparrow - 10 23. Dark-eyed Junco - 3 late - seems like the sparrows were arriving as = the day ran on; the first Juncos for the season 24. Northern Cardinal - 8 25. Purple Finch - 1 bird calling, then singing in the White Oak 26. House Finch - 10 27. Gold Finch - 3 flyovers 28. Blue Jay - 8 29. American Crow - 6 Bob: Sorry about the order on 28 and 29. A senior moment. A post script - Working home on October 22, I had three Barn Swallows = flying north into the wind.
