Rick Blom told me some time ago I could do 250 in a year, if I tried. I want to see if I can. I at least want to surpass Jim Stasz's life Charles Co. list. I think that is about 235, but Jim can correct me on that number. I have been waiting a long time to just go birding. Maybe I will do it as part of a fund raising effort for the Atlas program. I will donate $1 per species I identify, and hope others will sponsor the effort for the Atlas. I don't get too much help down here, but maybe others will provide information on the list of species not yet found in the county. I intend to keep my 2004 Charles Co. checklist public, so if someone finds a bird not on the checklist, the birder can contact me. I might wind up getting a cellphone for the year. I will also bird in all 65 blocks in Charles Co. that year. Maybe some interesting things will be learned. I may wind up with more "block ticks" in Charles in 2004 than the "county ticks" that Jim had in the 23 counties last year. Thanks for your comments.
