Consulting the big Sibley, I find they have yellow legs. So, a thick-billed, long-billed shorebird with yellow legs was present at about 4 pm at the pond visible from Emmaus Rd. in HowCo. I saw it from the shoulder of the east bound lanes of I-70. It was backlit, so no hope of i.d. to species. But the dowitcher species continued through 4 pm today. I'm hoping to try again in the morning, with, I hope, better lighting, though the forecast of fog for tomorrow doesn't bode well.
