A Greater Yellowlegs was seen looking for food on the exposed flats in front of my house. I have always thought that this area would be great shorebird habitat but have not seen any other shorebirds there except Spotted Sandpipers and Killdeer. Other notables seen in the yard yesterday (11/2) were Belted Kingfisher and Bald Eagle (both seen while fishing the banks) Here at work today I added my first thrushes to my list of birds seen on post. 2 Hermit Thrushs were enticed out of hiding near the Marina at the Edgewood Area of APG.
