Paul Guris, spiritual godfather of See Life Paulagics, will be speaking on "Pelagics of the Mid-Atlantic". It will include photos of mammals, turtles, etc., as well as the obligate shearwaters, jaegers, etc. If Paul's enthusiasm is just 1/2 his level on boat trips, it should be a rockin' evening. The could be subtitled Mark's nirvana, Amy and Bob's hell, but we won't go into that. Wednesday, November 5th, 7:30 pm, Senior Center, 125 Stoner Avenue, in Westminster. Call 410-549-3598 for more details. This is just a warm-up for the next Lewes DE pelagic trip (into MD waters), scheduled for December 6th. Although Paul will soon be formerly announcing this trip, I'd advise you to sign up now. A contingent of Carroll County MOS members will be on board, so prepare to be entertained! Come to the talk to prep for the boat trip. Target birds for the December trip: Greater and Manx Shearwaters*, Northern Fulmar, Northern Gannet, Razorbill, Common* and Thick-billed Murre*, Dovekie*, Atlantic Puffin, Red Phalarope, Parasitic and Pomarine Jaegers, Great Skua*, Herring, Iceland, Lesser Black-backed and Greater Black-backed Gulls, Black-legged Kittiwake (*=less likely). See www.paulagics.com for full details.
