Everybody seemed to be bemoaning their demise & possible extinction in the eastern U.S. I saw a hen somewhere about a month ago, but I forget where. Then last week on my way to work I narrowly missed hitting a male in northern Baltimore County. I just came back from walking around the lake here in Aspen Run (about halfway between Westminster & Hampstead) where I encountered the first one I've seen here in about a dozen years. There were quite a few around here when we moved here in 1985. I found a deceased male laying in the snow a few years later and haven't seen one since. Anybody have any opinions about pheasant numbers?
