And while I'm online, I'll post todays sightings from there, as seen by the ANS Youth Birders, TEAM OSPREY, Saturday November 8: Seen from the Visitors Center area (also the docks) ; highlight was a single male LONG-TAILED DUCK in the water near the center of the lake, along with Ring-necked Ducks, many Buffleheads, 2 Pied-billed Grebes, a mixed flock of Mallard, one American Black Duck and at least 4 American Wigeon flying over, a small flock of small ducks (possibly Green-winged Teal) flying over, at least one pair of Hooded Mergansers, an adult BALD EAGLE being harrassed by a pair of crows, and a small flock of Ruddy Ducks. From the boat ramp area we did locate a pair of Green-winged Teal and more Mallards and 4 Hoodies (all females), and a flyover Red-tailed Hawk. From the trail adjacent to Parking Lot #9 and down the trail through the woods, we did manage to find at least 1 RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, and a D.C. Cormorant along with many C. Geese. About 43 species in about 3 hours, but no Tundra Swans...
