It was not seen this morning, but I did see some species I did not see yesterday, including Gadwall, Lesser Scaup, and lots more wigeon and Ring-necked Ducks than yesterday. Also seen was a single, late SPOTTED SANDPIPER flying over and across the lake before disappearing. A late Brown Thrasher was seen near the weedy edge of the gravel lot for the boat ramp, and a couple of D.C Cormorants were still present. Viewing from the Rt. 121 bridge was not productive, but I did pish up an immature White-crowned Sparrow from the weeds beside the bridge, and more coots and Pied-billed Grebes than yesterday were here. Ruddy Ducks were in the small cove near the bridge. Still no Tundra Swans were seen today. They must've moved through on Friday, and kept going. I also met a nice guy from D.C., Tom Ewert (sp?), previously from Oregon, who tipped me off to the flying sandpiper, and we enjoyed talking and watching the ducks from the deck of the visitor center.
