This morning around 10:30, some 1600 Canada Geese dropped out of the sky to land in Leeds Creek right beyond my yard. Amongst them was a single immature Black Brant, [the pale-bellied (eastern) race].

The Brant becomes bird species #173 on my yard list. Only 85 more species to go and then this place will be matching Harry Armistead's Talbot County digs.
