I was visiting at my parents property between 11/12-14/03 at Hancock in = Washington Co. MD. The following were noted: 100+ Cedar Waxwing (already devouring the Holly berries) 15+ Purple Finch (many more females than males) 12+ American Goldfinch (eating Hemlock seeds) 2 Eastern Meadowlark 6 Wild Turkey 1 Fox Sparrow (beautiful rusty-brick red) My mom also said that the Chipping & Tree Sparrows were back, but I did = not see any while I was at home. No signs of Red-breasted Nuthatch, Pine Siskin or Grosbeak. Also, no = sign yet or the partial albino White-throated sparrow that has returned = for several years to their home.
