I have used eBird once to enter observations - it is not too hard to use. But I often have trouble keeping up with recording my observations in my own computer files, and I would never want to trust them to be held anywhere else. With as little time as any birder has, it is hard to imagine keeping two sets of records. The ability to see other birders' records is an eBird selling point for me, but I have not figured out how to connect actual birders with their data. Makes the data much less interesting.
