The numbers have been building up gradually - yesterday we = counted at least 25 in our yard between feeders and sweet gum balls. = This morning (18 Nov) after Ian got on the (fog-delayed) school bus I = was looking up into the sweet gums at the purples and golds and noticed = a small streaked finch with a deeply notched tail and very sharp bill - = Pine Siskin. There were two siskins here today, they have yet to go to = the feeders, guess those sweet gums are pretty nutritious and tasty. At = any rate it looks like we may have numbers of at least two winter = finches this winter, let's all pray for some more diversity.
