As I arrived home I was greeted with a female Purple Finch in the dogwood tree above my driveway. It was soon joined by the mail. The pair then flew off to feest on sweet gum seeds. I am also happy to inform sesil/harford area birders that the Perryville Town Park has reopened and the waters surrounding it are FULL of waterfowl! I checked on Wednesday and found at least 12 species of 'waterbirds' including a site high count for Pied-billed Grebe (8). Other water birds there includedc: Mallard, Black Duck, Gadwall, A. Widgeon, Ruddy Duck, Bufflehead, Green-winged Teal, Ring-necked Duck, Hooded Merganser, A. Coot, D-c Cormorant. Also present was one Greater Yellow-legs and a small flock of another small sandpiper species flying around the far shore (Dunlin?). Good birding, Chris Starling North East, MD ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
