MDOsprey rejected my post twice on Tues night because my line was too long and was working on it tonight to make it shorter. The Sat and Sun trips will be on separate list. Baltimore Bird Club had a special weekend bird trip to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and other areas over the weekend and round up 94 species. After our trip ended at dusk, we all headed back to our motel at Best Value Inn to check in. Afterward, we head off to dinner down the road (don't know the name of that place) where we had a surprise birthday for Gail Frantz with help from Steve Sanford. Steve helped me talk to waitress about getting a piece of cake with a candle for her. Everyone had their small bite of her cake and left me with a very big bite, about half the size. Oh Man, I'm already stuffed, but had to eat it because the cake is on me ($1.99). 11/15/03 Blackwater NWR - 0930-1530 LEADERS: Taylor McLean (am), Kevin Graff (pm) OBSERVERS: Steve Sanford, Gail Frantz, Elliot Kirschbaum, Nancy Kirschbaum, Cathy Carroll, Paul Noell Terry Ross, Roberta Ross, Mark Linardi, Debbie Terry, Bryce Butler, Denise Bayuszik, Claudia Burns, Jeanne Bowman, Carol Schreter, Paula Warner, Nancy Meier Weather: MS until 1400, cold, windy, 51 to 53 degree 1 Pied-billed Grebe, 2 Double-crested Cormorant 14 Great Blue Heron, 21 Great Egret 2 Snowy Egret 2 Black-crowned Night Heron 18 Turkey Vulture 1 Snow Goose "blue goose" 4919 Canada Goose 14 Tundra Swan 6 Gadwall 7 American Wigeon 30 American Black Duck 238 Mallard 19 Northern Shoveler 386 Northern Pintail 11 Green-winged Teal 3?
