The museums are closed, and to should get very close. The rest of the holiday weekend may be questionable with all the visitors in for Thanksgiving. If you go early the mall usually has plenty of parking. You should not need public parking. You could take the Metro and get off at Smithsonian. Park at the Metro station near you. It should be free over the weekend.
