...to wear orange.

Just a reminder that deer firearm season opens tomorrow (Saturday 11/29).
There is one Sunday, 11/30, on which hunting will be permitted in some counties
(on private land only - no Sunday hunting in Frederick and Carroll counties).

It is wise to wear orange while birding in hunting areas. Avoid brown, tan,
gray and white, the colors of deer. Even if land is posted "no hunting" the
owner may allow select individuals to hunt it. As you already have permission
to bird there, call or visit the owner to see how they are doing and ask if any
hunting might be taking place (ruining the nephew's shot at a trophy buck is
a quick way to wear out your welcome).

And don't forget to take your bins into the deer stand with you. Even if you
don't see a deer all day, there are always birds to watch!
